HAPPY READING DAY A.K.A. “I AM GONNA PROCRASTINATE FROM STUDYING FOR CHEMISTRY BY DRESSING UP AND MAKING MY COOL FRIEND TAKE PICTURES OF ME” DAY! LOL!!
No, really, I had an excuse for doing this and that is what I like to call "being a lazy a$$ college student who claims to run a fashion blog but really just sits around and watches YouTube cat videos." Okay, let’s be real, 75% of the reason behind this post is because I did my hair in something other than my favorite styles of “sleepless ponytail” and “unwashed hobo” (and I was also eager to show off my new turtleneck because I’m 96 and my name is Martha and I knit tea cozies for fun.) So, without further adieu... OOTD fo wednesbae Turtleneck: Anthropologie ($25) (CHECK OUT THEIR SALES RIGHT NOW FOR REAL. I mean ACTUAL sales too, because me, you, and your six cats all know I won’t buy anything over $40 unless it’s woven from the hair of a Swedish virgin milkmaid.) Circle skirt: Forever 21 ($7) (slightly regrettable because this skirt was very short and my roommate told me not to pick up ANY pencil a boy drops!!) Tights: TJ Maxx ($3) Docs: Amazon ($85) (As I’ve said before, if you’re considering buying Docs anytime soon, I HIGHLY recommend buying through Amazon because you will save upwards of $30!) Necklace: vintage and stolen from my dear mother’s closet ;) Anorak: JCPenny ($28) (My go-to jacket, oh how I love thee.) This is definitely one of my favorite outfits to wear any time—with tights and a jacket or without, it’s perfect for almost any (decent) weather. Another reason I like it so much is it makes me feel oH sO ParIsiAn!!! I am in love with the idea of black and white or navy and white stripes with a swipe of red lipstick. Ugh. Maybe I’ll make THAT my signature look instead of tattered leggings and my narwhal shirt…but probably not. As always, thanks to the lovely and lovely Margaret Scruggs for waiting 30 extra minutes for me to get ready and letting my attempt to climb a tree instead of posing for pictures. You da best.

Soooooooo
As I was updating a few posts, I realized that my SMA 2014 Lookbook post only included my favorite couple look, sOoOO I decided I’d extend the post a bit here with the addition of a few more pretty awesome looks. Shannon’s look was our opener, so we knew it had to be DA BEST (hence the combination of actually every really super awesome favorite piece we had aka the shearling best and leather leggings AND BOMB NECKLACE.) As for the second featured look, the skirt was one piece we didn’t want to give up. Encore Athens has some of the coolest clothes I’ve ever seen, especially in fall, but so many people are a little scared to continue wearing skirts and dresses when Ath weather drops to a chilly 50 degrees (ha ha.) BUT the whole point of this look was to illustrate that “HEY! YES YOU CAN WEAR A SKIRT IN ATHENS FALL/WINTER AND NOT DIE!! SO DO IT!” So do it!! Again, seriously one of the coolest things I’ve ever done. Even though it took a million hours and my feet were crying afterwards. THERE ARE NO TEARS IN FASHION. |
